As A Coach

After his playing days, he attended Level 3 Coaching Clinic held at Bangalore in April 2004 and stood first in the exam conducted by the National Cricket Academy. He had a very successful stint with the India Under-19 team during the tour of England, Pakistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

He was appointed as the Cricket Manager for the ICC World Cup Twenty20 championship in South Africa 2007 and held the position till the tour of Australia in 2007-08. He then took over as the coach of the Mumbai Indians at the inaugural IPL 2008. He was also the coach of Mumbai Ranji Team, Assam Ranji Team and Vidharbha Ranji Team.
